Crete PD Special Olympics Car Race Today

Crete PD’s very own Al Taylor is participating in the Five-O Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser for Special Olympics at Grundy County Speedway this afternoon. This ‘friendly’ stock car race features agencies from the greater Chicagoland area. Here’s the video from a couple years back:

Officer Taylor has so far raised over $3000 for Special Olympics Illinois. He will represent the Village of Crete in squad #133 today at Grundy County Speedway, located 8890 N Rt. Illinois 47 POB 846, Morris, IL 60450.

The Village of Crete and Crete Police Department is thankful to the many sponsors of Officer Taylor and his Squad #133, helping raise money for Special Olympics of Illinois Athletes.

Cop On A Rooftop w/ Crete & Beecher PD

Crete PD joined Beecher Police Department on Friday, August 19, at Dunkin’ Donuts in Beecher for the annual ‘Cop on a Rooftop’ event.

Sunrise till noon, law enforcement officers greeted customers at Dunkin’ Donuts locations around the country, handing out free donut coupons, selling t-shirts and baseball caps, collecting donations to help fund the Law Enforcement Touch Run, which benefits Special Olympics athletes.

From Crete Police Department, Officers Taylor, Krenner and Elza participated. They joined Beecher Police Department Corporal Sipple, Officers Drew and Arroyo, PD Admin. Asst. Linda Krug, Code Enforcement Officer David Harrison, EMA Director Bob Heim and EMA Officer Laura Voss.
