On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, law enforcement, school staff, Special Olympics athletes, volunteers, and supporters carried the Flame of Hope through Crete, Beecher, and Monee as part of the 1,500-mile Illinois Torch Run. The torch continued south toward the State Finals in Normal, IL, held June 20–22.
