In 2025, the Village is required to test water samples from forty homes twice a year, in order to comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, which were adopted by Illinois.

We are required to test at homes with lead service lines. response to the strengthening state and federal regulations surrounding lead in drinking water, the Village is required to sample at locations with a lead water service line. Our records indicate that this area has a large amount of lead service lines.

We are looking for residents to volunteer, as one of 40 properties, to participate in this free lead and copper sampling program. Residents will be notified of their property’s results. This will help the Village ensure that our water is in compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations.

If residents wish to sign up for sampling please have them email or call [email protected](815-444-4469) to confirm that you are available and willing to participate in this program.
