Paid-On-Call

Embark on a demanding and very satisfying career as a member of the Crete Fire Department. The Crete Fire Department is constantly seeking applicants for “paid-on-call” firefighters and reviews applications year round for the paid-on-call division. The hiring process is as follows:

  • Application
  • Interview
  • Background check
  • Pre-employment physical
  • Approval from Fire Chief
  • Firefighter Academy
  • EMT-B program
  • Six months to one year probation period

Minimum Requirements:

  • 18 years old
  • US citizen
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reside within the allowable response area of the Village of Crete
