Whether you’re a proud patriot bleeding red, white, and blue for America’s 250th, or you just really like big booms, fireworks that explode or shoot into the air are illegal in Illinois.
Crete PD says violators can be charged with a Class A Misdemeanor, carrying fines of $100–$750 and/or arrest. That’s an expensive boom.
Also worth remembering: your pets and neighborhood veterans usually aren’t the biggest fans either. So stay safe, and check out some of the great fireworks shows around the area!
