FOIA – Freedom of Information Act Requests
The Village of Crete is committed to transparency and compliance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140).
FOIA requests may be submitted in multiple ways. Use of the online request form is optional.
How to Submit a FOIA Request

- Requests may be submitted in person at Village Hall during regular business hours.
Additional Information
- FOIA requests do not need to be submitted on a specific form
- A FOIA request does not require the requester to provide their legal name
- A request is not required to state it is a “FOIA request” to be valid
- The Village will respond to all FOIA requests in accordance with Illinois law
- Requests submitted by email, mail, fax, or in person will be accepted and processed in the same manner as online requests
