Crete Police Department begins ‘Speed Campaign,’ aimed at reducing accidents and injuries.

For the next month or so, Crete officers will keep an extra watchful eye on motorists traversing Crete municipal roads. According to Chief Pieritz, some drivers have misinterpreted the COVID-19 crises as an opportunity to violate traffic laws without fear of repercussions, and Chief Pieritz asks that both residents and visitors slow down and obey traffic control devices, to avoid costly tickets or worse.

The campaign was made possible by an IDOT grant, which reimburses Crete Police Department 100{2ea2584bbd0afbe1d4d51a2518a34972430dfc33a61f1a011410a66bcc6148b4} of the officer hours used for the campaign.
